Saturday, 12th May 2018, to celebrate the World Binturong Day, ABConservation has inaugurated in the presence of local partners the first exhibition dedicated to the binturong, at the SM City Puerto Princesa on Palawan Island, Philippines.
The morning began with the presentation of the ceremony program by the MC Francis, followed by speeches by MaryAnne Joylle Madrinan, Senior Environmental Management Specialist of the City Environment Natural Resources Office (CENRO), and Pauline, president of ABConservation. After the ribbon cutting, the guests (local partners and ABConservation’s friends) were invited to attend the exhibition preview.
To allow as many visitors as possible to enjoy the exhibition, it stayed open until Tuesday. It was then transferred to Langogan Barangay where it will run until June 30th, so that residents of Langogan also get a chance to discover the exhibit.
A huge thanks to our local partners: City of Puerto Princesa, Langogan Barangay, CENRO, PWRCC, WPU, PCSD, DENR-BMB. Thanks to SM City Puerto Princesa for hosting the exhibit. Thanks to Banh Pho Restaurant for providing lunch for more than 40 people. Thanks to Francis for being MC during the opening ceremony. Our thanks also go to our friends Chato, Kirsten, Sweet, Hannah, Reshelle and RonneRnn Ronnie who came to support us.
