The 21 of March, a Memorandum of Agreement has been signed with the CITY GOVERNMENT OF PUERTO PRINCESA (LGU) and the CITY ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES OFFICE (CENRO) as part of Bearcat Study Program.
For 2 month, our camera traps have been set up in the barangay of Langogan, with the participation of its residents. We have taken the decision to study two sites very different but both interesting. A first part has been set up in a coffee farm, and the other part at 15 meters from the ground in baliti trees situated in the forest
During the next months, Adok and Marlon (two tree-climbers from Langogan, and very experienced) will be in charge of the checking of camera traps (changing of memory cards and batteries). Melinda and Chris (the Guardian angels of the Bearcat Study Program) will be next in charge of retrieve the data of memory cards and transfer them on an external drive. In June, Agathe will come back for the second time in Palawan and will analyse these data.
In 2 month, we have already obtained several pictures of arboreal mammals (not bearcat, but we must be patient), and we wish to share few photos with you.
