In December, Murielle organised a training on Environmental Education (EE) for several teachers of the Palawan State University (PSU) with the help of Agathe and Katherine of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD). It was a two days training from December 9th to December 10th. 25 college teachers of the PSU were at the training and come from different curriculum: Arts and Humanities, Business Accountancy, Criminal Justice Education, Engineering and Architecture, Hospitality and Tourism management, Nurse and Science, College of Science, Teachers Education, Graduate school.
The programme began with the presentation of the environmental laws in Palawan. Then, the definition and goals of the EE and the EE in the Philippines were presented followed by the different topics and activities that can be implemented in EE. We also talk about how to integrate EE in the curriculum and what could be the barriers who could arise when the teachers want to integrate EE in their curriculum. Finally, we did 2 workshops about EE integration the curriculum and useful community and school resources that can be used to enliven their EE activities. During this training, the teachers learn that EE can also be integrated in other subjects than science such as medicine and architecture.
Thank you very much to Mrs Josol, Miss Lovely and to the PSU Extension Services Office (ESO) team for their help for and during the training. Thank you also to Katherine for her presentations.
