In North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, in over 15 countries, more than thirty zoological parks, rescue centre and schools participated in World Binturong Day this year! A huge success all over the world, an international buzz, a common desire to do more for this threatened but yet little-known animal.
This year, I am particularly moved, as we received a great number of email requests for educational material, not only from zoos but also from teachers, as well as families. The binturong becomes, at last, an animal triggering interest for all, not only professionals and insiders.
A huge thanks to the Filipinos and Filipinas from Palawan and Agathe, our scientific officer, for this wonderful celebration of the binturong in Puerto Princesa and Langogan!
We are also very grateful to La Ménagerie, le zoo du Jardin des Plantes of Paris and its director Mr Saint-Jalme, for welcoming us for the 5th consecutive year. Thanks to ABConservation’s volunteers, thanks to SECAS’ volunteers and president Mrs Lenoir for joining us every year for this event, as well as Fabien and Valentine from the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle educational departement. Thanks to you, it was a great success.
And finally, all the team of ABConservation joins me to thank the people, zoos, rescue centres and schools worldwide for their participation in the 5th edition of the World Binturong Day. Many thanks to institutions and their zookeepers in Longleat, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, Dudley Zoo, The Living Planet Aquarium, Dudley zoo, Espace Zoologique St Martin La Plaine, Zoo Vivarium of Darmstadt, Museum Pusaka NIAS, Zoo of Lodz, Wild Wonders, Hamerton Zoo, Linton Zoo, Wild Zoological Park, Santa Ana Zoo, Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre, Gunung Palung Orangutan Project, Nagano zoo, Tokuyama Zoo… And many others. Thanks!!!
